Your Guide
25 years on the French River. One boat. One guide who knows every bend, every shoal, and every season.
The Story
I didn't choose the French River — I grew up on it. My first fishing memories are from these waters, and I've spent the better part of 25 years learning every channel, every shoal, and every seasonal pattern this river has to offer.
I started guiding because I wanted to share what I knew. There's something about watching a first-time angler land a trophy musky, or seeing a family sit down to a shore lunch on a flat rock in the middle of nowhere — that never gets old.
The French River is a UNESCO Canadian Heritage River. It's been a travel corridor, a fur trade route, and a fishing destination for centuries. I take that seriously. Every trip I run is guided by respect for the water and the fish that live in it.

The Early Years
The French River doesn't give up its secrets easily. The first few years I guided, I made every mistake there is to make — wrong currents, wrong structure, wrong presentations. The river taught me.
Over time, the patterns became clear. Where the musky hold in August. Which walleye shoals produce in low light. The pike bays that nobody else fishes. That knowledge took 25 years to build — and it's what every client gets when they step into the boat.
I've guided anglers from across Canada, the US, and Europe. First-timers and tournament veterans. Families and solo trophy hunters. The river has something for all of them — my job is to put them in front of it.

How I Guide
The French River has been producing trophy fish for generations because guides and anglers have respected it. Catch-and-release is encouraged on every trip — especially for large fish. The river gives back what you put into it.
I grew up on this river. I know the current seams, the holding structure, the seasonal patterns, and the spots that don't show up on any map. That knowledge is what you're booking when you book a guide.
Some clients want non-stop action. Others want to slow down, take in the scenery, and enjoy a shore lunch on a flat rock. Both are valid. I adjust to what you're after — not the other way around.
